The plot takes place mostly in Chicago, however the film is international in nature and scope. Several scenes take place in other countries and the characters are Vietnamese, Hispanic, Polish, American and French.

The plot travels through Chicago main avenues and back streets. Two detectives drive, walk, ride trains and even fly across the city looking for an elusive femme fatale.
